Our family has outgrown our minivan (which is currently inoperable). With 7 children (including 1.5 year old triplets and a 3 month old) we desperately need something with significant space. We are seeking a 14+ passenger vehicle. We do not need luxury items, such as TV's or VCR' s included (but the children would love it :-), but we do need reliability. As the miles rack up, so does the potential for mechanical issues, so we would prefer something not too high in miles. We are leaning toward a diesel based engine, as these tend to outlast their gasoline-based counterparts - but if the price is right we certainly won't dismiss the gas engines. Wheelchair lifts aren't a consideration for us, so you won't get 'extra points' if it has one or 'points taken away' if it doesn't. With most of our children under the age of 2, functional heat and air conditioning are necessities - especially reliable heat as we live in a climate with brutally cold winters. Also, while the interior doesn't need to be detailed, it does need to be in decent shape...you'd be surprised what types of things these little tykes can find to put in their mouths! My wife is a stay-at-home mom (a.k.a. Domestic Engineer). I am a full time musician for a church. In addition to working a full time job, a part time job, and my family responsibilities, I am also planning to go to college to eventually help support my family better than I can now. Because of all this, funding is very limited. I am hoping to find 'the perfect bus for us' in the $3,000 range. (Should someone wish to donate a bus I'm sure we can work through my church so that you can at least get a tax deduction for it. While we would certainly be grateful for such a kind donation, we don't necessarily ask nor expect a gift of this magnitude.) Good things come to those who wait - but with no functional family vehicle, we can't wait too long. (FYI - we live in a very rural area...while there is a Walmart and some grocery stores in our neighborhood, you have to drive at least 45 minutes away to find any significant shopping places.) I am hoping to have a vehicle within a week, so please contact me ASAP if you believe that you have something we may be interested in. You just might be the answer to my wife's and my prayers!
